The CCC highlights the extent of overheating in homes (published July 2014)

Numbers‘Exposure to extreme heat is already a health issue. Currently, one-fifth of homes in England could experience overheating even in a cool summer.’

Additional information – The Committee on Climate Change’s June 2014 report concludes that ‘action is needed to adapt the existing building stock and design new buildings to counter the impacts of high temperatures on health and well-being’ (as well as making a range of other important recommendations related to adapting the built environment).
