DECC – Statistics on the Green Deal and ECO (Published 22 October 2015)

GD CoverDECC published the latest statistics on the domestic Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) in Great Britain on 22 October 2015.

The (combined) statistics are from January 2013 up to the end of September 2015 for the Green Deal, and up to the end of August 2015 for the ECO.

DECC finds that “Around 1.63 million measures were installed in around 1.32 million properties through ECO, Cashback, Green Deal Plans and the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund to the end of August 2015.” The large majority of installed measures (96 per cent) were delivered through ECO.

Of all notified ECO measures installed, 38 per cent were for cavity wall insulation, 27 per cent were for loft insulation, and 21 per cent were for boiler upgrades. All solid wall insulation types accounted for six per cent.

15,231 households had Green Deal Plans in progress at the end of September 2015, a one per cent decrease from the 15,408 Plans in progress at the end of August 2015.

The release also contains a detailed breakdown of the types of measures installed, information on the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, and on changes to the supply chain e.g. the number of registered installers.

On 23 July 2015 DECC announced that there will be no further public funding to the Green Deal Finance Company and the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund.
